Raymond G. Otis is a fine artist & illustrator. He has created over 500 original pieces of Fine Art. He sells his artwork to the general public and businesses.  He paints watercolors, acrylics and oils from painting "Plein-Air" or in his studio, in sizes ranging from 8 X 10 inches to 3 X 4 feet.  He is trained and experienced as a professional art director and producer, having worked on National Accounts.

 

 

Special Interest

Raymond’s current series of paintings focuses on the seacoast & harbors along the West Coast of the United States.  It includes: antique sailboat races held in northern Holland, the French harbor in Cassis, the town of Digne in the Provence region of France, the Cinque Terre villages on the Mediterranean coast, the town of Siena & other villages in the Tuscany region of Italy, and the city of Venice.

 

Raymond and his wife Nancy spent from 1987 to 2001 traveling, teaching and producing videos in India, Eastern Europe and the South Pacific.  Ray was the Photojournalist of Record to a symposium in Nanjing, China in 1985.  He photographed both boating and landscapes in Holland & France since 1978.

Raymond paints in watercolor, acrylics, oil, and mixed-media, in addition to pastels and line drawings.

Career

Raymond was trained as an artist, illustrator and graphic designer.  He spent several years working as an art director and producer in advertising agencies - producing TV Commercials, print campaigns and multi-image “Dog & Pony” shows.  Raymond started his own company, RGO & Associates, where he produced multimedia film, video & slide shows for various companies, including: Hughes, Nissan, Bank of America, Sunkist, Carnation (Friskies-pet foods), and Hilton & Ramada Hotels.
